An Uninterruptible Pneumatic Power Generator

Welcome to PNEUMA project web site!

The PNEUMA (PNEumatic Uninterruptible MAchine System) project intends to create a new back-up system for application in mobile telephony which will eliminate the presence of lead-acid batteries traditionally employed to store energy, that will be applied at international level and its implementation in two pilot countries (Italy and Spain).

The project activities started in January, 2004 and are planned to end in June, 2006.

The activities are conducted by 5 partners, 4 from Italy and 1 from Spain, coordinated by Magnetek, involving manufacturing companies, telephone companies, universities, public agencies and LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) experts.

PNEUMA project has received the LIFE Environment funding from the European Commission as demonstration project.
