Magnetek Visits Telecom to Show PNEUMA Project - YEAR 2, N.1
Last February has taken place in Rome a meeting between Magnetek and Telecom to present the PNEUMA Project. At the meeting participated Mr. Ciuffarella and Mr. Conte for Magnetek and Mr. Petta, Mr. Caruso, Mr. Muoio, Mr. Orsaia and Mr. Cappellini for Telecom.
After the product presentation, Telecom was pleasantly surprised about PNEUMA.
The application, as Orsaia and Petta told, could have wireline application, but it shows greater interest in the wireless one, just because it is conceived in order to supply radio energy stations.
Orsaia liked a lot the philosophy of the project and in his opinion it is a design that inspires safety.
Petta has instead focused his remarks on the environmental aspect: with PNEUMA the saving in the use of lead would be of approximately 800-900 kg every 20 years.
Another favourable aspect has come out from the Telecom data on mean time of interruption of the power supply.
Mr. Cappellini has asserted that statistical samples about the wireless stations on the territory of Emilia - Romagna Region have shown a mean time of interruption of approximately 10 minutes (for single interruption) with a frequency of 4-5 events for year (max 50 min for single interruption). This would allow, after a careful analysis, the reduction of the number of requested bottles for storing the compressed air.
In the next project development the participation of eng. Mauro Forghieri (Editor’s Note, the fabolous design engineer of the Ferrari group at Lauda’ times) is anticipated as technical consultant on structural engineering and mechanical reliability and as technical director of Oral Engineering.
